📖 How to Use GoalStats?

Complete guide for managing football statistics with friends

Quick Start

GoalStats is a smart system for managing football game statistics with friends. Track goals, assists, MVPs and more - all in a simple and user-friendly interface!

Register or Login

Create a new account with your team name, or join an existing team with an invite code

Add Players

Add all regular players to the player warehouse

Record Games

After each football evening, enter the results and statistics

Share with Friends

Send the group the evening summary and updated statistics!

Registration and Login

🆕 Create New Team

  1. Click "Register" on Home Page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Choose a password (minimum 6 characters)
  4. Enter the team name (For example: "The Friends of John")
  5. Click "Register"
  6. Verify the email sent to you
Tip
team name will appear at the top of the page and in search. Choose a name your friends will recognize!

🔗 Join Existing Team

If a friend already created a team and sent you an invite code:

  1. Click "I have an invite code" on the registration page
  2. Enter the your email and password
  3. Enter the invite code (6 characters)
  4. Click "Join Team"

🔑 Login

After registration, just enter your email and password and youll be redirected directly to your team page.

Forgot Password?
Click "Forgot Password" and you will receive a reset link by email.

Roles and Permissions

In the system there are two types of users:

Admin (Admin)

  • Add and edit games
  • Manage Player Warehouse
  • Delete games
  • Backup & Restore data
  • Invite new users
  • Manage team users
  • Change team name

Content Manager (Content Manager)

  • Add and edit games
  • View Statistics
  • Share summaries
  • No access to Player Warehouse
  • No access to delete games
  • No access to backup/restore
Tip
Whoever created the team automatically gets the role of Admin. New invitees get the role of Content Manager by default.

Manage Player Warehouse

Before you start recording games, you need to add players:

  1. Click "Player Warehouse" in the menu
  2. Enter the player name in the text field
  3. Click "Add"

✏️ Edit Player Name

Click the pencil next to the player name to change the name. Statistics are preserved!

🗑️ Delete Player

Click the trash can. Note: Historical statistics are saved even after deletion.

Note
It is recommended to add all regular players in advance. Maximum 60 players per team.

Create New Game

Click the + green button in the bottom left corner to start:

Choose Team Colors

Choose the jersey colors of both teams:

Blues Reds Yellows Whites Oranges

Assign Players to Teams

Select the players participating in each team. Players not selected are considered "did not participate".

Permanent Goalkeeper (Optional)

If someone plays only as goalkeeper (e.g. someone recovering from injury) - mark them as permanent goalkeeper.

Enter Games

For each game, enter:

  • ⚽ Scorers - Who scored? (including own goals)
  • 👨🏻‍🍳 Assisters - Who assisted?

Select MVP

Choose the standout player of the evening!

Finish and Save

Review the summary and click "Save". The round will be added to the list!

Tip
Own goal: If an own goal was scored, select "Own goal" from the list. The goal counts for the opposing team but does not count in any players statistics.

View Statistics

The system automatically calculates all statistics:

Click each card to see the full ranking!

Player Profile
Click a player name in any table to see their personal statistics.

Sharing, Editing and Deletion

📤 Share Matchday Summary

Each round has a "Share link". button. Clicking it copies a message with a link you can send to your WhatsApp group!

✏️ Edit Matchday

Made a mistake? Click the "Edit" and you can change all the data.

🗑️ Delete Matchday

Click the "Delete". Note: deletion is final! (Admins only)

Important
Deleting a round will remove all its statistics. Make sure you are certain before deleting!

Invite Friends to Team

Want more friends to be able to update games?

  1. Go to "User Management" (Admins only)
  2. Click "Create invite code"
  3. Send the code (6 characters) to a friend
  4. Your friend registers with the code and automatically joins the team!
Tip
Invite codes are valid for one week. You can create new codes anytime.
